18 REGIONAL COMMI'I'.rEE: THIRTEENTH SESSION WP/RCI3.R5 MANAGEMENT OF CHOLERA EL TOR I The Regional Committee, Having considered with interest the report presented on the patho-physiology of choleral and on the work being done by the United States Naval Medical Research Unit No. 2 in co-operation with the Government of the Philippines, 1. EXPRESSES its appreciation to the Governments of the Philippines and the United states of America for having made this information available; 2. EMPHASIZES the importance of further research being carried out in relation to cholera El Tor; 3. REQUESTS the Regional Director to collect information on all the studies presently :!.n operation, and on any future developments in this field, and to transmit this information to Member States in the Region; II Having noted the statement presented by the Regional Director on the conclusion of bilateral or multilateral. arrangements under Article 104 of the International Sanitary Regulations,2 UNDERLINES the importance of an early exchange of information, under Article 104 of the International Sanitary Regulations, particularly with regard to the imposition of quarantine restrictions in respect of cholera El Tor.
