INFLUENZA SURVEILLANCE WHO C o l l a b o r a t i n g C e n t r e f o r R e f e r e n c e a n d R e s e a r c h o n I n f l u e n z a , A t l a n t a , — Twenty-nine influenza A(H1N1) virus strains from Asia (China,1 Hong Kong,2 India,3 Thailand,4 the Phil ippines) and 3 from Trinidad and Tobago, isolated during JuneSeptember, have been investigated. Twenty-three o f these isolates were similar to the new H1N1 variants typified by A/Hong Kong/2/82(HlNl) or A/Dunedin/27/83(HlNl) and the remainder were more closely related to A/England/333/80(HlNl) or A/Indta/6263(H INI). Vingt-trois de ces isole ments étaient analogues aux nouveaux variants H1N1 dont le type est A/Hong Kong/2/82(HINI) ou A/Dunedin/27/83(HlNl) et les autres étaient davantage apparentés à A/England/333/80(HlNl) ou à A/India/6263(H1N1).
