Section 1(4) of the Ministerial and other Salaries Act 1975 (salaries: power to substitute figures) is hereby repealed.
After section 1 of the 1975 Act there shall be inserted—.
For section 4(2) of the Ministerial and other Salaries Act 1975 (amounts to be construed as maximum amounts) there shall be substituted—.
In paragraph 1(1) of Part V of Schedule 1 to the 1975 Act (Ministerial salaries)—
for “stated in relation to that office in column 2” there shall be substituted “ provided for ”, and
for “so stated” there shall be substituted “ provided for ”.
In paragraph 1 of Part II of Schedule 2 to the 1975 Act (Opposition leaders and whips), for “stated in relation to that person in column 2” there shall be substituted “ provided for ”.
This Act may be cited as the Ministerial and other Salaries Act 1997.
