<subsection xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-1-1"><num>(1)</num><content>This section has effect for the purposes of section 8 of the European Union Act 2011 (decisions under Article 352 of <abbr title="Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union">TFEU</abbr>).</content></subsection>

<subsection xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-1-2"><num>(2)</num><intro>The following draft decisions of the Council of the European Union under Article 352 of <abbr title="Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union">TFEU</abbr> are approved—</intro><level class="para1" eId="section-1-2-a"><num>(a)</num><intro>the draft decisions on the participation of—</intro><level class="para2" eId="section-1-2-a-i"><num>(i)</num><content>the Republic of Albania, and</content></level><level class="para2" eId="section-1-2-a-ii"><num>(ii)</num><content>the Republic of Serbia,</content></level><wrapUp>as observers in the work of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (document numbers 9877/16 and 9876/16), and</wrapUp></level><level class="para1" eId="section-1-2-b"><num>(b)</num><content>the draft decisions on the signing and conclusion of an agreement between the European Union and the Government of Canada regarding the application of their competition laws (document numbers 10819/16 and 10821/16).</content></level></subsection>

<subsection xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-1-3"><num>(3)</num><content>In this section “<abbr title="Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union">TFEU</abbr>” means the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.</content></subsection>
