<subsection xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-1-1"><num>(1)</num><content><p>The following provisions have effect for the purposes of section 3 of the European Union Act 2011 (which sets out requirements to be met before a Minister of the Crown may confirm the approval by the United Kingdom of a decision adopted under Article 48(6) of the Treaty on European Union).</p></content></subsection>
<subsection xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-1-2"><num>(2)</num><content><p>The European Council decision of 25 March 2011 amending Article 136 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union with regard to a stability mechanism for Member States whose currency is the euro (2011/199/<abbr class="acronym" title="European Union">EU</abbr>) is approved.</p></content></subsection>
<subsection xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-1-3"><num>(3)</num><content><p>That decision does not fall within section 4 of the European Union Act 2011 (cases where treaty or Article 48(6) decision attracts a referendum).</p></content></subsection>

<subsection xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-2-2"><num>(2)</num><content><p>This Act comes into force on the day on which it is passed.</p></content></subsection>
<subsection xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-2-3"><num>(3)</num><content><p>This Act may be cited as the European Union (Approval of Treaty Amendment Decision) Act 2012.</p></content></subsection>
