PROJECT BRIEF 1.1 Project Components And Descritions CommLinication is an irnportant infrastructure and basic industry of civil economy, as well as basic conditions of improving social development. Expediting infrastructure construction, wvhich is a main measL[rement of the strategy developing the west patrt of China, plays a very important role in improving economic development of jumping-off and depressed area, production and consumption environment of countrvside and pasturing areas, and living condiitions of farrmers as wvell. There are 67000 km hig,hway in Inner Mongolia in 2000. which is very smnall compared with national average level, only 113 of that, 1 1 smaller in r,eedy areas. After discussion with the officials of World Bank in MaNa 2000. we all agree to selec' the roads to be the highway netwvork improvemnent project ( HNIP ) according to the following standards: * To improve local ecomic dce elopinenit of needy ar-eas * T promote local products commerce of need! areas * 'I o solvc the problemns of education anid minedical treatment for the local residents of needy areas Considering above principies. Huade to Anye Highway Huade to Anve Highway project is located in the Huade county. Ulanqab League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of Clina. Total of the road; rjlhl- is 85 Km. The starting spot of the highway is in the wvest to the towNIn Huade. xnith the mairn control spots along the route as: Baiyingtela countryside. Luishiqln countryside, Dagaitan countryside and Qihao countryside, and the end on Anye village. 2. Zhuozishan to Lianmcheng Hi-l-lhay Zhouzishan to liangcheng Highway projiect is located in the Zhuozishan and Liangcheng county. Ulanqab LeagLe. Inner Mongolia AutoLnomous R,gion of China. Total of the road length is 48 km. The starting spot of the highway is at the exit of the Zhuozishan County, with the main control spots along the rouIte as: Liusu nu countt-side, Houfanrzi countryside. Sansumu countryside and XianghUiandi countryside, and the end on Liang-cheng County. 2.
