Liu Zhongli Minister of Finance Ministry of Finance Sanlihe, Beijing People's Republic of China Re: Japanese Grant Agreement (Environmental Technical Assistance Project) Amendment of the Japanese Grant Agreement Dear Mr. Minister: We refer to the Japanese Grant Agreement (Environmental Technical Assistance Project) between the People's Republic of China (the Recipient) and the International Development Association acting as Administrator of Grant Funds provided by Japan (the Administrator), dated February 12, 1993. We refer also to the discussion.s held between the Administrator and the Recipient regarding extending the duration of the contract with the consultants in order to carry out the technical assistance for the abovementioned Grant. Accordingly, Section 1. 03 of the Grant is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 1.03. The Consultants are expected to commence their services on February 1, 1993 and to provide a total of 175 staff-weeks of service between that time and June 30, 1994. " Please confirm your agreement with the foregoing amendment by signing and dating the enclosed confirmation copy and by returning it to us for our records. Once confirmed by you, this amendment will take of this letter.
