Page 1 March 26, 1990 His Excellency The Minister of Planning Ministry of Planning P.O.Box 862 NIAMEY Niger Re: Credit No. 1880 NIR (Energy Project) Amendment to DANIDA Grant Agreement Excellency, We refer to the above-mentioned Grant Agreement, dated March 18, 1988, between the Republic of Niger (the Borrower) and the International Development Association (the Association), acting as Administrator of Grant Funds provided by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), as subsequently amended by an amendment letter, dated February 3, 1989, signed by the same parties. We also refer to your letter, dated August 29, 1989, requesting the Association to increase the disbursement percentages indicated in the Grant Agreement for all expenditures financed under that Agreement. We are pleased to inform you that DANIDA has acceded to your request and that, accordingly, the Association hereby agrees to amend the table in paragraph 1 of Schedule 1 to the Grant Agreement as follows: Amount of the Grant Allocated % of (Expressed in Expenditures Category Dollar Equivalent) to be financed (1) Part A of the Project: (a) civil works, 9,700,000 100% goods, consul- tants' services and training (except for Part A.4), and operating costs (b) goods and 600,000 100% services for Part A.4, and operating costs This amendment shall be deemed to have taken effect as of March 18, 1988. Please confirm your agreement to the foregoing amendment, on behalf of the Borrower, by signing and dating the confirmation form on the enclosed copy of this letter and returning it to us for our records.
