Page 1 August 21, 1989 His Excellency Minister of Planning and Cooperation Ministry of Planning and Cooperation B.P. 7008 Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso Re: Credit No. 1896 BUR (Agricultural Research Project) Amendment to the Credit Agreement Excellency: We refer to the Development Credit Agreement (the "Agreement") for the above-referenced Project between Burkina Faso (the "Borrower") and the International Development Association (the "Association") dated May 23, 1988. We are pleased to inform you that the Association agrees to amend the description of the Project contained in Schedule 2 in order to better cover the civil works program. Consequently, Part B of Schedule 2 of the Agreement is hereby amended by inserting after paragraph 4 the following: "5. Construction in Di, Farako-BA, Katchari, Kouare and Saria of nine laboratories, and of various buildings, offices, greenhouses and drying areas. 6. Construction of water distribution systems in Di, Katchari, Kouard, Saria and of an extension reaching to Farako-BA. 7. Rehabilitation of a laboratory, a store, a conference room and construction of three offices, a stable and a drying area in Niangoloko." Please confirm your agreement by signing and dating the form of confirmation on the enclosed copy of this letter so that the amendment may become effective, and returning it to us.
