Since 1980 the annual average rate has been: 1980 - US$1 = Rs 16.5; 1981 - US$1 = Rs 19.3; 1982 - U,9$1 = Rs 20.8; 1983 - US$1 = Rs 23.5; and 1984 - US$1 = Rs 25.5.
