INTERNATIONAL BANK FOR RECONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT FOR THE PRESS Fund Press Release No. 278 SUBJECT: Tunisia joins Bank Press Release No. 526 Fund and Bank April 14, 1958 Tunisia today became a member of the International Monetary Fund and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development when the Articles of Agreement of these institutions were ~igned in Washington on behalf of the Government of Tunisia by His Excellency Mongi Slim, • Ambassador for Tunisia in the United States • The quota of Tunisia in the International Monetary Fund is $12 million and its subscription to the capital stock of the Bank is 120 shares with a total par value of $12 million. Sixty-six nations are now members of the Fund and Bank. Admission of Tunisia brought the total of members' quotas in the Fund to $9,053,000,000. The total subscribed capital of the Bank is now $9,36o,4oo,ooo • •
