Project Name: Madhya Pradesh District Poverty Initiative Project II (MP-DPIP II) Responsible Agency: State Project Support Unit, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Paryavaran Parisar EPCO, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. Project at a Glance: District Poverty Initiatives Project (DPIP) is an ambitious project of the Government of Madhya Pradesh (GoMP) for the alleviation of poverty in the State. The Phase-II has been conceived as a project that will support livelihood not only through smaller groups - the Self Help groups (SHGs) but these will be aggregated at the higher levels for achieving scale and ensuring benefits from the growing market economy. These SHGs will aggregate in VDCs. The VDCs will receive grant from the project and in turn loan it to its SHGs for their capitalization. Further these groups will take form of higher level financial institutions - Community Financial Organization (CFO) and activity based organizations in the form of Producer Organizations (PO). 2.
