The technical assistance project is a four-year program which will finance the secondment of five foreign experts to the Ministry of Planning to elaborate long-term macro-economic and sectoral strategies, set priorities, identify projects, undertake economic and financial analysis, and to prepare Mauritanian counterparts to carry on their work once the project is over through on-the-job training and • speci a 1 courses • Th~ technical expertise to be provided under the project is designed to help the Government in its efforts to formulate an effective and well planned development program. Identification and preparation of specific investment projects is also part of this project which will be implemented by the Ministry of Planning, Nouakchott> Mauritania. The $2.7 million IDA credit will be for a term of 50 years, including 10 years of grace. It wi 11 be interest free but wi 11 carry a service charge of 3/4 of 1% to cover IDA's administrative costs.
