The project consists of extension of the breakwater, addi- tion of one berth to the new port and consulting services for supervision of construction. The exploitation of Somalia's limited resources has been • inhibited by the lack of adequate transportation facilities. completion, the new port of Mogadiscio is expected to handle about two-thirds of the imports and about one-third of Somalia's exports. For engineering consulting services, the Government will retain SOGREAH, which has carried out prelfminary and detailed engineering and is supervising construction.
