Explanation 1.1 Compiling objectives and basis This plan is prepared for Shaanxi Rural Drinking Water Safety and Sanitation Project by Using World Bank Loan and DFID Donation: Environmental Management Plan of Rural Drinking Water Safety and Sanitation Project. It is one part of project environmental impact assessment report. This plan is complied based on World Bank Environmental Assessment Criteria (OP4.01) and related Chinese law, code and regulations. The objectives are: the project management agency has to carry out environmental protection safeguard measures in the project implementation phase and operation phase, and the adverse environmental effect of project can be accepted or is lowest. The advantageous environmental effect of project could be greatest degree reached. This plan is prepared by Shaanxi Provincial Research and Design Institute for Environmental Science. 1.2 Main contents This plan aggregates and briefly explains the necessary environmental management work in construction and operation phases of rural drinking water safety and sanitation project which is World Bank Loan and DFID Donation Used by Shaanxi Province.
