Page 1 DRAFT EA SUMMARY 1 Changjiang and Pearl River Watershed Rehabilitation Project Environmental Assessment (Draft) E1238 V. 4 Page 2 DRAFT EA SUMMARY 2 Summary CHAPTER 1: PREFACE Chapter 1 includes the following components: (1) Purpose and Background of Environmental Assessment (EA): To satisfy the requirements of both the Chinese Government and the World Bank (the Bank), the EA report is to be prepared in both Chinese and English languages and the English version is to be a compulsory part of the Loan Agreement between the Bank and the Chinese Government. It is the Bank
