INFLUENZA SURVEILLANCE

SURVEILLANCE DE LA GRIPPE

Brazil (3 June 1981). — Influenza A viruses of the H3N2 subtype have been isolated from sporadic cases in Belém and Rio de Janeiro in Febnjary-May 1981. Those investigated by the WHO Collaborating Centres for Reference and Research on Influenza in Atlanta and Lon­ don reacted equally well with sera prepared against A/Texas/1/77 (H3N2)-like and A/Bangkok/1/79 (H3N2)-like strains.

Brésil (3 juin 1981). — Des virus de la grippe A, sous-type H3N2, ont été isolés à partir de cas sporadiques à Belém et à Rio de Janeiro entre février et mai 1981. Ceux qui ont été étudiés par les Centres collaborateurs OMS de référence et de recherche pour la grippe d’Atlanta et de Londres ont réagi tout aussi bien en présence de sérums dirigés contre des souches analogues à A/Texas/1/77 (H3N2) et à A/Bangkok/1/79 (H3N2).
