INFLUENZA SURVEILLANCE N ew Z e a l a n d (17 March 1981). — Sporadic cases of influenzalike illness were reported in the North Island in February 1981. One strain of influenza A (H3N2) virus has been isolated. The strain reacted, in preliminary investigations, equally well with sera against A/Texas/1/77 (H3N2)-like and A/Bangkok/1/79 (H3N2)like strains. Lors d ’examens préliminaires, elle a également bien réagi avec des sérums dirigés contre les souches semblables à A/ Texas/1/77 (H3N2) ou semblables à A/Bangkok/1/79 (H3N2).
