Most reports have indicated a decrease in the in fluenza infections associated with virus A. _ In addition to countries for which a decline was mentioned in previous issues of the Weekly Epidemiological Record, the following countries have sent in formation recently: Finland1 *3(sporadic cases and local outbreaks throughout the country, starting to decline during week ending 17 February), Ita ly3 (decline after a limited increase which affected all regions and reached its peak towards the end of January) and U SSR 3 (decline in Middle Asia and the Transcaucasia, which were the last regions affected by a widespread epidemic, with a peak between 22 and 29 January). 1 See No. 5, p. 71. > See No. 3, p. 46. 3 See No. 6, p. 82.
