INFLUENZA SURVEILLANCE N e w Z e a l a n d (16 May 1979). — 1 From mid-March to mid-May outbreaks of influenza-like illness affecting mainly the age groups 15-24 years and 5-14 years continued to spread in the North Island. The illness was generally mild but one fatal case in a 18-year-old boy with influenza and pneumonia was reported. La maladie était généralement bénigne mais on a signalé un cas mortel, un j'eune homme de 18 ans atteint de grippe et de broncho-pneumonie.
