LOUSE-BORNE TYPHUS P e r u . — 1 An outbreak o f 85 cases of louse-borne typhus has been reported in the south-east region of the country (Cuzco Department) during the week ending 18 June 1977. Thirty-five cases were reported in the Quencoro Jail and 50 cases in the locality o f Pacopata. An additional ten cases were reported in Pacopata during the week ending 2 July. Thus far, a cumulative total of 129 cases have been reported for 1977 in the country. 1 See No. 30. p. 248.

P ér o u . — 1 Une poussée de 85 cas de typhus à poux a été enre­ gistrée dans le sud-est du pays (Département de Cuzco) au cours de la semaine se terminant le 18 juin 1977. Trente-cinq cas ont été signalés à la prison de Quencoro et 50 à Pacopata. Dix autres cas ont été notifiés à Pacopata pendant la semaine se terminant le 2 juillet. Jusqu’ici 129 cas en tout ont été signalés dans le pays depuis le début de 1977.1 1Voir N» 30, p. 248.
