SURVEILLANCE DE LA RAGE
U ruguay. - In its reply to the WHO Questionnaire on Rabies 1980-1981, Uruguay reported the occurrence at the end o f 1981 of2 cases of the disease in animals (dog and horse) in the Department of Rivera, in the frontier area with Brazil. It should be noted that Uruguay had been free from rabies for 40 years. Eighty per cent o f the dog population of the affected area was vaccinated.
U ruguay. — Répondant au questionnaire OMS sur la rage (19801981), l’Uruguay signale la présence à la fin de 1981 de 2 cas de rage animale (1 chien, 1 cheval) dans le Département de Rivera, dans la région frontière avec le Brésil Il convient de noter que l’Uruguay était exempt de rage depuis 40 ans. Quatre-vingt pour cent de la population canine vivant dans la zone touchée a été vaccinée.
