Women. health and development (Document WPRlRC48/Conf. Paper No.7 Rev.2) The CHAIRMAN, noting that the amendments had been proposed principally by the
representative of Australia, who had indicated to him that it was in order, invited the Committee to adopt the draft. Decision: The draft resolution was adopted (see resolution WPRlRC48.R9).

Action Dian on tobacco or health (Document WPRlRC48/Conf. Paper No. 10) There were no comments. Decision: The draft resolution was adopted (see resolution WPRlRC48.RI0).

Fortv-ninth and fiftieth sessions ofthe Regional Committee (Document WPRlRC48/Conf. Paper No. II) There were no comments. Decision: The draft resolution was adopted (see resolution WPRlRC48.RII).

RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION Dr ITO (Japan) proposed that the appreciation to the host country be expressed in the
following draft resolution:

The Regional Committee, EXPRESSES its appreciation and thanks to: (I) the Government of Australia for: (a) (b) (c) (2) (3) hosting the forty-eighth session of the Regional Committee in Sydney; the excellent arrangements and facilities provided; the generous welcome and hospitality received;
the Chairman. Vice-Chairman and the Rapporteurs elected by the Committee; the representatives of the intergovernmental and nongovernmental organizations for
their oral and written statements. The REGIONAL DIRECTOR suggested that appreciation of the excellent technical briefing might be added as paragraph I(d). It was so agreed.
Decision: The draft resolution was adopted (see resolution WPRlRC48.R12).

CLOSURE OF THE SESSION: Item 22 of the Agenda The CHAIRMAN said that the draft report would be sent on to all representatives in the
following week, indicating the date by which comments should reach the Regional Office, after which it would be considered to have been accepted. The REGIONAL DIRECTOR presented a gavel set to the Chairman in appreciation of his chairmanship. The CHAIRMAN thanked all participants for their tolerance and helpful understanding. He declared the forty-eighth session of the Regional Committee closed. ;1
