INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATES OF VACCINATION New Edition The model prescribed by the International Health Regulations (1969) for international certificates of vaccination or revaccinauon against yellow fever and cholera has just been reprinted in its bilingual English/French edition. A new trilingual Arabic/Enghsh/Fench ver sion is in preparation. This booklet has been brought into line with the global eradication of smallpox. In addition to the removal of the smallpox certificate itself, there is a notice to the effect that smallpox vaccination is no longer justified, and that it can even be dangerous. In view of the importance of malaria for international travellers, a brief warning in red print, related to protection against this disease, is also included. Une nouvelle version trilingue anglais/arabe/français est en préparation. Le carnet de vaccination a été modifié pour tenir compte de l’éra dication mondiale de la variole. Outre que le certificat de vaccination antivariolique proprement dit n’y figure plus, il comporte une note précisant que la vaccinanon antivariolique ne se justifie plus et peut même être dangereuse. Etant donné l’importance du paludisme pour les voyageurs internationaux, la protection contre cette maladie y fait également l’objet d’une mise en garde, imprimée en rouge.
