REVISED TENTATIVE PROJECTIONS OF THE BUDGET ESTIMATES FOR 1980 AND 1981 1. In response to resolution WHA22.53 of the World Health Assembly on long-term planning in the field of health, biennial programming and improvement and strengthening of the evaluation process, 1 the Director-General provides to each Region tentative allocations for the two years succeeding the programme budget years under review. Tentative allocations for the Western Pacific Region of US$14 229 000 and US$15 510 000 had been received for the years 1980 and 1981 respectively. 2. As a result of discussions with governments in the Region, an indication had been obtained of their priorities for the 1980 and 1981 programmes of collaboration as foreseen at the time of preparation of the programme budget estimates for 1978-79. Document WPR/RC27/P&B/4 concerning the tentative projections for 1980-81 was submitted to the twenty-seventh session of the Regional Committee for consideration and thereafter submitted to the Director-General in accordance with resolution WPR/RC27.R22. 2 3. The Director-General has since revised the tentative allocations for 1980-81 to US$15 447 000 and US$17 048 000 respectively in order to devote a larger part of the resources to technical cooperation activities. The 1980-81 tentative projections within the Western Pacific Region's revised tentative allocations, along with the comparative figures for 1978 and 1979, are shown in Annex 3 to document WPR/RC28/2. 4. This information is submitted for the Regional Committee's consideration; thereafter, the Regional Director will submit it to the Director-General.
