Influenza F ran ce (27 October 1992). Influenza B virus was isolated from 2 cases in Brest (North-West) during the week ending 25 October. N etherlands (28 October 1992). Influenza A(H1N1) virus was isolated from a hospitalized boy aged 1 year on 27 October. This was the first and, so far, only sign of influenza activity; the incidence of influenza-like illness is normal for the season, i.e. 4 per 10 000 population. United States o f A m erica (6 November 1992). Influenza B virus was isolated from a specimen obtained on 16 October from a 2-year-old child in New York. During the week ending 30 October, 7 states reported sporadic influenza activity. All indices of influenza activity are normal for the season.
Grippe F ran ce (27 octobre 1992). Le virus grippal B a été isolé de 2 cas à Brest (Nord-Ouest) pendant la semaine se terminant le 25 octobre. P ay s-B a s (28 octobre 1992). Le virus grippal A(H1N1) a été isolé le 27 octobre d'un garçonnet hospitalisé, âgé d'un an. H s'agissait du premier et, jusqu'ici, du seul signe d'activité grippale; l'incidence des syndromes grippaux est normale pour la saison, soit 4 pour 10 000 habitants. Pendant la semaine se terminant le 30 octobre, 7 Etats ont rapporté une activité grippale sporadique. Tous les indices d'acnvité grippale sont normaux pour la saison.
