INFLUENZA SURVEILLANCE

SURVEILLANCE DE LA GRIPPE A u s t r a l ie 1 (4 octobre 1978). — Des souches du virus grippal A ressemblant à A/USSR/90/77 ont été isolées sur quatre adolescents à Victoria au cours des quatre dernières semaines. Trois d ’entre eux, âgés de 15 à 17 ans, qui vivent dans un camp militaire, ont présenté pendant 24 heures les symptômes typiques de malaise, fièvre et troubles des voies respiratoires supérieures. Le quatrième, un nor­ malien âgé de 18 ans, vit dans une exploitation agricole spécialisée en production laitière. Il a été hospitalisé après avoir été atteint pendant 24 heures de maux de tête, de toux et de fièvre. 1 Voir N" 38, p. 283.

A ustralia 1(4 October 1978). — Strains of influenza A resembling A/USSR/90/77 have been isolated from four young men in Victoria during the past four weeks. Three o f them, age 15 to 17 years, live in an Army Camp and presented with a typical 24 hour history of malaise, fever and upper respiratory symptoms. The fourth man, aged 18, is a student teacher, who lives on a dairy farm. He was admitted to hospital with a 24-hour history of headache, cough and fever. 1 See No. 38, p. 283.
