WPR/RC36.R3 EXPANDED PROGRAMME ON UKMUNIZATION The RegiQnal Committee, Having considered the report of the Regional Director on the work of WHO in the Western Pacific Region for the period 1 July 1983 - 30 June 1985;1 Noting that, in some countries in the Region, the epidemiological situation with regard to the expanded prograJilllle on immunization target diseases is quite . favourable, but expressing its concern that, in other developing countries, immunization services effectively reach less than half the eligible infants; 1. URGES Member States to intensify their efforts to overcome as soon as possible the various constraints and problems impeding the implementation of their expanded programme on immunization, in particular, by mobilizing and augmenting the financial, manpower and other resources needed to attain the goal set by the expanded programme on immunization; 2. REQUESTS the Regional Director: (1) to collaborate in immunization programmes, national reviews; the regular particularly monitoring and evaluation of on the occasion of periodic (2) to provide all feasible support needed, subject to the availability of resources, to supplement the contributions of Member States and other agencies so as to attain the goal of immunization for all children by 1990.
