SELECTION OF TOPIC FOR THE TECHNICAL PRESENTATION DURING THE 'IWENTY-SEVENTH SESSION

The Regional COmmittee, at its twenty-fifth session, adopted a resolution whioh deoided that the Teohnioal Disoussions held at eaoh of its sessions sinoe 1952, with the exoeption ~f the 1970 session, should be replaoed by a teohnioal presentation. The topio for the presentation will deal with a speoial subjeot, or a health problem and/or approaohes to a health problem. "The oontrol of tuberoulosis in the Western Paoifio Region" is the topio for the Teohnioal Presentation at the twenty-sixth session of the Regional Committee. In ohoosing a topio for the Teohnioal Presentation at its twentyseventh session the Committee may wish to oonsider the following suggestions of the Seoretariat: (1) (2) (3)
the status of the antimalaria programme in the Western Paoifio Region; publio health oontrol of hypertension and rheumatio infeotion; oontrol of oholera and enterio fevers and their treatment;
(4) immunization in the oontrol of diseases; (5)
primary health care.
The Committee may, of oourse, wish to oonsider other topios.
