No change has occurred during 2018. MEMBERSHIP OF THE EXPERT ADVISORY PANELS 2. Membership of the 43 expert advisory panels totalled 544 in November 2018, compared with 554 in November 2017. In terms of regional distribution, 11% come from the African Region, 24% from the Region of the Americas, 10% from South-East Asia Region, 29% from the European Region, 9% from the Eastern Mediterranean Region and 16% from the Western Pacific Region. Of the total of all members of all panels, 34% are women. 3. The annexed list of all panels includes a breakdown on members by panel, region and sex, as of November 2018. Further details (lists of experts by region and country) are available on request. MEETINGS OF EXPERT COMMITTEES AND STUDY GROUPS 4. The following committees met in 2018: Expert Committee on Drug Dependence (Fortieth meeting), Geneva, 4–7 June 2018 (11 members: four men, seven women) Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (Eighty-sixth meeting), Geneva, 12–21 June 2018 (7 members: four men, three women) Expert Committee on Specifications for Pharmaceutical Preparations (Fifty-third meeting), Geneva, 22–26 October 2018 (11 members: five men, six women) 1 This report is submitted to the Executive Board in compliance with regulation 4.23 of the Regulations for Expert Advisory Panels and Committees.
