RABIES SURVEILLANCE IN THE AMERICAS The rabies surveillance programme in the Americas, which was instituted in July 1969, now receives information from 30 sources of which 28 correspond to countries or territories where rabies exists. For the month of June, 14 cases of human rabies were recorded by 19 reporting units. Ten of these occurred in Brazil, and one each in Colombia, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Paraguay. Single cases of post-vaccinal neuroparalytic complications occurred in both Argentina and Mexico.
