YELLOW FEVER C olombia. — Colombia reported an outbreak o f jungle yellow fever with a total of eight cases in the month of July. Six of these cases were in the municipality o f San Vincente Chucuri, Santander Department; one in the municipality o f Victoria, Caldas Depart­ ment; and the other in the municipality of San Carlos, Antioquia Department. Immediate measures were taken to carry out appro­ priate epidemiological studies and to implement an intensive vaccination programme in the affected areas. Although the outbreak has been controlled, health authorities have been con­ cerned because reinfestation by Aedes aegypti is occurring in areas situated adjacent to those in which yellow fever cases occur. Nec­ essary measures have been taken to treat with insecticides the infested localities adjoining the area in which the cases o f yellow fever were reported.

FIÈVRE JAUNE C olombie. — L a Colombie a signalé qu’une poussée épidé­ mique de fièvre jaune de brousse s’est produite en juillet. Il y a eu huit cas en tout: six dans la municipalité de San Vincente Chucuri, département de Santander, un dans la municipalité de Victoria, département de Caldas, et un dans la municipalité de San Carlos, département d ’Antioquia. On a immédiatement procédé aux enquêtes épidémiologiques voulues et exécuté un programme intensif de vaccination dans les zones atteintes. La poussée a été jugulée, mais les autorités sanitaires se sont inquiétées de voir qu’Aedes aegypti réinfestait des zones adjacentes à celles où la fièvre jaune s'est manifestée. Le nécessaire a été fait pour traiter aux insecticides les localités infestées avoisinant la région dans laquelle les cas ont été observés,
