DIPHTHERIA P h il ip p in e s . — During the week ended 30 April 1977, a sharp increase was reported in the weekly number of diphtheria cases admitted to the main hospital of Manila—62 against 42 the previous week The median of the numbers of cases for the corresponding week in the previous five years was only 39. Of the 62 cases, 52 originated from the metropolitan area of Manila.

La médiane des chiffres rapportés pendant la semaine correspondante pour les cinq années- ' précédentes est de 39 cas seulement. Sur les 62 cas, 52 provenaient de la zone métropolitaine de Manille.
