Influenza G reece (28 February 1992).1T he outbreaks in the north which started at the end of Decem ber are now declining after a peak during the week ending 25 January. They affected particularly people under 25 years o f age. Both influenza A and influenza B viruses have been isolated. All influenza A viruses further typed have been of the H3N2 subtype. Y ugoslavia (27 February 1992).2 Outbreaks of influenza­ like illness began in M acedonia at the end of December and by the first week o f February nearly 97 000 cases had been notified. Forty per cent of the cases were in the age group 7-19 year?. Twenty-six cases were confirmed by isolation of influenza A virus, 24 of the H 3N 2 subtype and 2 of the H1N1 subtype. 1 See No. 5, 1992, p. 31. ! See No. 10, 1992, p. 68.
