GUILLAIN-BARRÉ SYNDROME SURVEILLANCE S w it z e r l a n d . — A case of suspected Guillain-Barré associated with influenza A infection has been reported in an eight-year-old girl. Neurological symptoms with convulsions and disturbed conscious­ ness, hypotonia and slight paralysis appeared five days after onset of respiratory illness. The recovery was slow but seemingly complete. Clinical investigations supported a viral etiology. Serological investigations indicated infection with influenza A/USSR/90/77.

SYNDROME DE GUILLAIN-BARRÉ S uisse . — Un cas suspect de syndrome de Guillain-Barré associé à une infection grippale A a été signalé chez une fillette de huit ans. Des symptômes neurologiques avec convulsions, troubles de la conscience, hypotonie et paralysie légère sont apparus cinq jours après le début des troubles respiratoires. La guérison a été lente mais apparemment complète. D ’après les examens cliniques, on était en présence d’une étiologie virale. Les examens sérologiques ont montré qu’il s’agissait d ’une infection par le virus grippal A/USSR/90/77.
