World Health Organization Organisation mondiale de la Santé EXECUTIVE BOARD 101st Session Agenda item 20 EB101/INF.DOC./1 26 January 1998

Preliminary daily timetable for the Fifty-first World Health Assembly The Thirty-second World Health Assembly (1979), in resolution WHA32.36, decided that the Executive Board “shall fix a preliminary daily timetable for the Health Assembly’s consideration of its agenda and the General Committee shall review and approve this timetable, subsequently revising it if and when required”. The attached draft preliminary daily timetable has been drawn up to assist the Board in this task. The duration of the Health Assembly is restricted to six days which is the length provided for in the approved programme budget for the financial period 1998-1999. It is proposed that the morning of Thursday, 14 May, be reserved for activities related to implementation of resolution WHA48.16, which calls for a “special event connected to the World Health Assembly of 1998, in conjunction with the fiftieth anniversary of WHO”, in order to secure high-level political endorsement of the new global health policy.
