CHOLÉRA R épublique fédérale d ’A llemagne. R oyaume-U n i .
A second imported case of V. cholerae, biotype eltor, serotype Ogawa was reported on 9 August. This patient had returned from Tunisia on 7 August. U nited K ingdom . — The case of cholera previously notified1 as imported from Tunisia has been confirmed as V. chokrae, biotype eltor, serotype Ogawa. The wife of this man who was in the same tourist group has also been shown to be excreting vibrio of the same serotype although, apart from mild diarrhoea during her stay in Tunisia, has not been ill. Another imported case has been reported on 7 August from a different group staying in Tunisia and again V. cholerae, biotype eltor, serotype Ogawa has been identified. E ditorial N ote : The attention o f all health administrations is drawn to the fact that no part of the Federal Republic of Ger many nor the United Kingdom should be considered as infected as a result of these imported cases. It is most probable that the vibrio in the case imported into the Federal Republic of Germany will also prove to be eltor Ogawa. The recent seven importations in tourists from Tunisia into the above-mentioned countries and Sweden8 will thus all have been due to the same serotype.
• Voir N" 30, p. 302.
