provisional agendas of the 10 I st session of the Executive Board in January 1998 and the Fifty-first World Health Assembly in May 1998 in relation to the work of the Regional Committee.

A comparative table citing items discussed by the Regional Committee for the Western Pacific which are due to be discussed at the WIst session of the Executive Board and the Fifty-first World Health Assembly is attached as Annex I. The provisional agendas of both the 101 st session of the Executive Board and the Fifty-first World Health Assembly are also attached as Annex 2 and Annex 3, respectively. Among the topics to be discussed by the governing bodies are: the reports of the Regional Directors and The World Health Report; programme budget performance, 1996-1997; emerging and other communicable diseases; renewing the strategy for health for all and health-for-all policy for the twenty-first century; regional arrangements within WHO and WHO reform; women, health and development and employment and participation of women in the work of WHO; development of health research and WHO collaborating centres; and infant and young child nutrition.
