WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION ORGANISATION MONDIALE DE LA SANTE RESOLUT o N REGIONAL COMMITTEE FOR THE WESTERN PACIFIC COMITE REGIONAL OU PACIFIQUE OCCIDENTAL WPR/RC46.R19 15 September 1995 MEMBERS OF WHO IN THE WESTERN PACIFIC REGION ENTITLED TO DESIGNATE A MEMBER OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD The Regional Committee, Recalling resolution WHA39.6 in which the Thirty-ninth World Health Assembly adopted amendments to Articles 24 and 25 of the Constitution of the World Health Organization in order to increase the membership of the Executive Board from 31 to 32; Recalling that the above amendments to the Constitution came into force on II July 1994, thereby increasing the number of Members of the Western Pacific Region entitled to designate a person to serve on the Executive Board to four; Reiterating the fact that the Western Pacific Region has the highest population of any WHO region; Noting that the number of Member States in the Western Pacific Region has significantly increased since resolution WHA39.6 was adopted: Remaining aware of the present criteria for electing a Member entitled to designate a person to serve on the Executive Board; .. .I WPRfRC46.RI9 page 2 RECOMMENDS to the Executive Board. and through it to the World Health Assembly. that consideration be given to increasing the number of Members from the Western Pacific Region entitled to designate a member of the Board from the current four to five.
