GRIPPE (9 octobre 1989). — La surveillance régulière de la grippe, qui fait partie d’un programme de recherche sur la pneumonie, repose sur la collecte d’échantillons chez les enfants de moins de 3 ans, admis pour une pneumonie à l’hôpital de Goroka. En 1989, la saison grippale a commencé vers la fin mai et s’est poursuivie jusqu’à la fin juillet. Au cours de cette période, 12 virus grippaux A(H3N2) et 14 virus B ont été isolés chez des enfants hospitalisés. P a p o u a s ie - N o u v e l l e - G u in ê e
Papua New Guinea (9 October 1989). — Routine influenza surveillance, which is pan of a pneumonia research programme, is based on the collection of specimens from each child less than 3 years of age admitted to Goroka Hospital with pneumonia. During 1989, the influenza season started towards the end of May and lasted up to the end of July. During this period, 12 influenza A(H3N2) and 14 influenza B viruses were isolated from hospi talized children.
