INFLUENZA SURVEILLANCE (12 October 1984). —1 • Only a few isolates of influenza A virus of H3N2 subtype and 1 of H1N1 subtype have been reported during the past 2 weeks and the outbreaks appear to be nearly over in Victoria. M a l a y s i a (28 September 1984). — Localized outbreaks of mild influenza-like illness, affecting mainly adults, occurred in Kuala Lumpur from the beginning of July until mid-September. During the period of highest influenza activity, at the end of July and in early August, influenza A(H3N2) virus was isolated from 3 adult patients. A u st r a l ia 1 See No 41, 1984, pp. 319-320.
SURVEILLANCE DE LA GRIPPE ( 1 2 octobre 1984). —1Au cours des 2 dernières semaines on n’a signalé que quelques isolements de virus grippal A, sous-type H3N2, et un seul appartenant au sous-type H1N1 ; d’ailleurs les flambées grip pales semblent s’être à peu près complètement éteintes au Victoria. M a l a i s i e (28 septembre 1984). — Des foyers de syndrome grippal bénin impliquant essentiellement des adultes, ont été observés à Kuala Lumpur entre le début juillet et la mi-septembre.
