PROCEDURE FOR THE NOMINATION OF THE REGIONAL DIRECTOR The Regional Committee, Having considered the report by the Legal Counsel on the procedure for nomination of the Regional Director; Wishing to improve the fairness of the process for the nomination of the Regional Director; Having considered the practice followed within the World Health Organization for the nomination of other elected officials, 1. APPROVES the amendments to Rule 51 of the Rules of Procedure of the Regional Committee contained in Annex 3 to the report by the Legal Counsel (WPR/RC61/11), which will become effective at the end of the sixty-first session of the Committee; 2.
