The Wildberries warehouse in Shushary was attacked by Ukrainian drones at 3:00 a.m. on July 24. At the time, more than 230 employees were present at the facility. According to the company, the site was subjected to a planned and deliberate attack by the AFU. 14 drone strikes were recorded at the warehouse; the drones pierced the roof, struck the facility's power substation, and set fire to the warehouse, which housed millions of consumer goods ranging from food products to children's toys and hygiene items. Delegates from the ICRC, together with experts from the Russian Red Cross, assessed the humanitarian consequences of drone strikes carried out by Kiev’s armed formations against civilian facilities belonging to the Russian marketplace. Ukrainian militants used long-range drones equipped with high-explosive fragmentation and incendiary warheads to attack civilian targets.
During the visit, ICRC experts were able to verify the complete absence of military targets and speak with the facility's management and the staff who were on duty at the time of the attack. • A humanitarian convoy carrying ten tons of aid—food and essential supplies for people living in dire conditions—was heading to Alyoshki.
• Ukrainian drones attacked the convoy as it was entering the town. First, the lead and “CIVILIANS” writing on the car (from Russian) rear vehicles were hit, followed by strikes on the others. Fortunately, the drivers managed to escape, though one was wounded. The cargo never reached the people. The convoy had been under surveillance, and it was clearly visible that the vehicles were civilian trucks carrying humanitarian aid.
