President Trump emphasized his unwavering commitment to stopping the bloodshed and securing lasting peace in Ukraine, rallying European allies to lead on security and paving the way for an ultimate resolution to the war. As Secretary of State Rubio said, after three years without talks or any real change in circumstances, this is the first time there is movement toward peace. This is a complicated war. But thanks to President Trump’s leadership, we are making progress towards ending the fighting. We will continue to work with our allies and partners on the security guarantees that will be in place so that Ukraine will be safe. There are a number of countries willing to step forward and join this effort. We’re selling weapons to Ukraine and NATO Allies so that Europeans can lead on European security, and Ukraine can strengthen its defense capabilities. President Trump is committed to peace and has made clear that he is prepared to continue engaging the Ukrainian and Russian presidents to facilitate negotiations towards durable peace. I would also like to join others in wishing our Ukrainian colleagues a happy Independence Day. ### The OSCE Secretariat bears no responsibility for the content of this document and circulates it without altering its content.
