An Act to replace section 1(1) of the Decimal Currency Act 1967 so as to sanction references to the new penny as the penny.
Denominations of money.
The denominations of money in the currency of the United Kingdom shall be the pound sterling and the penny or new penny, being one hundredth part of a pound sterling.
Section 1(1) of the Decimal Currency Act 1967 (which is superseded by subsection (1) above) is hereby repealed.
Short title.
This Act may be cited as the Currency Act 1982.
