<section xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-1"><num>1</num><heading>Limit on selective financial assistance for industry</heading><intro><p>In section 8 of the Industrial Development Act 1982 (selective financial assistance: general powers), in subsection (5)—</p></intro><level class="para1" eId="section-1-a"><num>(a)</num><content><p><mod>for “£12,000 million” substitute <quotedText>“£20 billion”</quotedText>;</mod></p></content></level><level class="para1" eId="section-1-b"><num>(b)</num><content><p><mod>for “£1,000 million” substitute <quotedText>“£1.5 billion”</quotedText>.</mod></p></content></level></section>
<section xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-2"><num>2</num><heading>Financial assistance for exports and overseas investment: commitment limits</heading><subsection eId="section-2-1"><num>(1)</num><intro><p>In section 6 of the Export and Investment Guarantees Act 1991 (financial assistance for exports and overseas investment: commitment limits)—</p></intro><level class="para1" eId="section-2-1-a"><num>(a)</num><content><p><mod>in subsection (1), for “82,700 million special drawing rights” substitute <quotedText>“£160 billion”</quotedText>;</mod></p></content></level><level class="para1" eId="section-2-1-b"><num>(b)</num><content><p><mod>in subsection (4)(a), for “sum specified in the order not exceeding 5,000 million special drawing rights” substitute <quotedText>“sum not exceeding £15 billion”</quotedText>;</mod></p></content></level><level class="para1" eId="section-2-1-c"><num>(c)</num><content><p><mod>in subsection (4A), for “either limit mentioned in subsection (4)” substitute <quotedText>“the limit in subsection (3)”</quotedText>;</mod></p></content></level><level class="para1" eId="section-2-1-d"><num>(d)</num><content><p><mod>in subsection (5)(e), after “the equivalent in” insert <quotedText>“sterling or”</quotedText>.</mod></p></content></level></subsection><subsection eId="section-2-2"><num>(2)</num><content><p>In section 12 of the Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Act 2015 (amendments to the Export and Investment Guarantees Act 1991), omit subsection (2).</p></content></subsection></section>
<section xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0" eId="section-3"><num>3</num><heading>Extent, commencement and short title</heading><subsection eId="section-3-1"><num>(1)</num><content><p>This Act extends to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.</p></content></subsection><subsection eId="section-3-2"><num>(2)</num><content><p>This Act comes into force at the end of the period of two months beginning with the day on which it is passed.</p></content></subsection><subsection eId="section-3-3"><num>(3)</num><content><p>This Act may be cited as the Industry and Exports (Financial Assistance) Act 2026.</p></content></subsection></section>
